As part of a speculative design challenge for Mavens Creamery—an SF Bay brand celebrated for its authentic, Asian-inspired flavors—I was tasked with conceptualizing the packaging and launch assets for a theoretical new flavor: Ube. The goal was to seamlessly integrate the rich, vibrant heritage of ube into Mavens' established, premium aesthetic while proving my ability to deliver fast, production-ready CPG assets.
Tasks: Packaging Design, Generative AI, 3D Modeling & Animation; Video Editing; Social Media
Programs: Illustrator, Nano Banana, Photoshop, Blender, Premiere, After Effects
The Execution
I approached this project through a full-funnel design lens, ensuring the concept translated beautifully from the store shelf to digital feeds:
Packaging Design & Mockups: Grounded in Mavens' existing brand DNA, I developed a distinct visual identity for the Ube flavor. I built high-fidelity mockups using Photoshop and Nano Banana 2 to test the packaging's real-world shelf appeal and color accuracy.
3D Modeling & Animation: To elevate the launch beyond traditional static assets, I built a custom 3D model of the packaging from scratch. This allowed me to script dynamic animations, creating a high-energy, scroll-stopping social media advertisement designed to drive consumer engagement.
The Takeaway
While the brand ultimately moved forward with another candidate, this project stands as a testament to my holistic approach to CPG design. It showcases my ability to respect established brand guidelines while pushing creative boundaries, moving fluidly between 2D packaging structures and 3D motion graphics. I remain a huge fan of Mavens' vision and look forward to bringing this same level of comprehensive, campaign-ready design to future CPG partnerships.
